Kelly Bantle, Vice President, has more than a decade of experience in servicing governments, corporations and non-profits in the areas of strategic communications, public relations and marketing. Her versatile skill set, expertise in project management and determination are a great asset to clients in achieving results. She has a proven track record of getting in front of tough issues and influencing public opinion. Kelly’s expertise in implementing advocacy-oriented communications campaigns at the local, state and national level has proven invaluable. Adding to her repertoire of skills is the ability to tap into the many facets of print, electronic and interactive media in order to engage target audiences.
In addition to providing strategic public relations guidance for all Pac/West clients, Kelly has managed several major statewide communications campaigns from the ground up. This includes Oregon’s Drive Less Save More Campaign, a social marketing initiative that promotes smart driving strategies and the use of transportation options such as transit, biking and carpooling. She has worked for the past five years on this innovative campaign that has moved 19 percent of the Portland metro population —220,000 individuals—to reduce car trips, resulting in a conservative reduction of 21.8 million vehicle road miles. Kelly also launched a statewide initiative to raise public awareness about colorectal cancer screening for the Oregon Department of Human Services, dubbed Got Polyps?, that generated more than $352,000 in earned media over a two-year time period. She also played a key role in generating $1.3 million in earned media coverage for Oregon’s Tobacco Education and Prevention Program. Kelly has additionally managed social marketing efforts for the local affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Foundation and American Medical Response.
Prior to Pac/West, Kelly managed media relations for Oregon-based building products company, Louisiana-Pacific (LP). During her tenure with LP, she executed results oriented communications strategies that propelled the company’s image as a quality building products provider and corporate citizen. Additionally, she played a key role in managing crisis communications involving plant operations and product liability issues. Kelly was also responsible for the company’s financial communications and acted as LP’s primary spokesperson, providing comment to national and state-based media on a broad range of topics and issues.
Kelly holds a M.S. in Mass Communications and B.S. in Journalism and Broadcasting with a public relations option from Oklahoma State University.
