Personal Interests: Outdoor activities, especially fishing, hunting, crabbing and clamming.

Bob Shiprack recently joined the Pac/West team after retiring from the Oregon Building Trades Council (OBTC). As the executive secretary for OBTC since 1986, Bob Shiprack represented 36 union locals and councils from across the northwest. He currently sits on the Oregon Energy Facility Siting Council which is tasked with making decision on regulating and permitting new energy projects.

In addition to his work in Salem, Bob has years of experience working with our congressional delegation and federal officials on issues important to the region. Bob is respected by everyone and has an institutional knowledge of public policy matters, permitting procedures, code development, and regulatory affairs that at are invaluable.

Under Bob’s leadership the Building Trades have become a powerful political force in Oregon. His efforts in areas such as workers safety and compensation, prevailing wages, development of new projects in the State and health care benefits for those previously uncovered will have a positive and lasting effect on the future of all Oregonians.

Even though no one can compare to Shiprack’s experience in representing the building trades, he will not be involved in lobbying for his former organization, but rather using his expertise to assist other Pac/West clients on issues of energy development, public policy analysis, regulatory reform and coalition building.
