Personal Interests: Supporting organizations and causes for which she and her husband and Pac/West co-owner, Paul Phillips, care deeply about, especially those that help women and children.

Nancy Phillips has been integral in building Pac/West into one of the most influential political public relations firms in the region. With a Masters Degree in Teaching and fifteen years in the classroom teaching communications skills, Nancy assists clients and staff in delivering effective messages on vexing issues.

Nancy has directed the growth of Pac/West into one with five offices that reach across the United States. She is responsible for administration and management of operations and addressing client needs. Pac/West enjoys a strong and stable client base, which includes sportswear, energy, forestry, insurance, health care, construction, labor and management associations and non-profit groups. The firm also serves major government agencies throughout the Northwest.

Known as the “Big-Boss” at Pac/West, Nancy has been instrumental in growing the firm from four professionals to more than twenty. In addition to her corporate responsibilities, she maintains an active role in the community, working with community service organizations that benefit women and children. She is a supporter of women in education. She serves on the board of The Foundation for Tigard Tualatin Schools. She is active in social organizations and her church.

For the past three years Nancy has been chair of the auction procurement committee for Pacific University’s Legends Golf Tournament. She is a co-founder and active member of the Friends of Speech Committee at Pacific, whose mission has been to reintegrate the Speech curriculum and fields of study back to the University.

Nancy brings hands-on classroom experience teaching oral communications to Pac/West clients. She is proficient in message development and delivery. Her training in speech, language arts and oral communication enables her to provide counsel to individuals looking to target their message.

She also coordinated special events, school activities and student government while teaching. Her organizational skills and task oriented style allows her to address the challenges of multi-tasking effectively. She was deeply involved with students and their community and school awards activities, as well as extra-curricular activities.

In addition to her work in the classroom, Nancy has worked on projects in conjunction with the Oregon Department of Education, local school districts and educational service districts throughout Oregon. One special project attributable to Nancy is the widely recognized co-development of classroom curriculum for the travelling Anne Frank exhibit.

Nancy holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Speech and a Masters degree in Teaching from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Ore., and is a member of Pacific University’s Board of Trustees.
